Brandon Thomas is currently the Chief Operating Officer of GMG EnviroSafe serving as a risk management strategist and regulatory compliance expert for the collision industry. Before working with GMG EnviroSafe, Brandon was the President of Collision Revision, a $60 million business with 30 shops throughout the Midwest. For more than 12 years, Brandon’s passion has been eliminating process waste and implementing the principles of lean manufacturing across a number of industries and businesses.
During his tenure with Collision Revision, Brandon developed and led an acquisition team that sourced, valued, and negotiated with independent body shops and regional MSOs throughout the country. Through this experience, he was the featured presenter on acquisition strategy and body shop valuation at the inaugural MSO Symposium at NACE. He also spent over 2 years researching and implementing a lean operating collision model that resulted in a 66% improvement in touch time, reduced cycle time from 10 to 7 days, and improved net income by 36.33%.
Brandon has demonstrated a unique ability to decipher important regulatory changes and communicate them in an interesting and easy-to-understand way that helps prepare the industry. He has consistently been the featured speaker at the Collision Industry Conference on these topics and has been the subject matter expert in articles for Fender Bender and Body Shop Business. Further, Brandon has participated in association meetings, paint manufacturer 20 groups, jobber learning seminars, and MSO senior leadership and management meetings on a wide range of topics.
Brandon currently travels the country working with shops to navigate the murky waters of OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance. He also strengthens their business by establishing a safer working environment for employees and stripping out unnecessary operating costs. Brandon currently serves the industry by participating in the following organizations: NABC Gold Sponsor, Recycled Rides Committee Member, CIC Gold Pin, CIC Training & Education Committee Member, CIC Government Committee Member, and CIC Marketing Committee Member.
Brandon received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Francis in Psychology and Marketing. He also received his Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of Villanova. Brandon resides in Chicago with his wife, when not travelling for work and globe-trotting, he can be found playing soccer and futsal year round all over the city.
